a place where I can nerd rant about my favorite tunes, kinda like the blog but exclusively for music hehe :3
IGOR is one of my favorite albums by Tyler, probably my first introduction to his music . I listened once and immediately was in love with it. The way the album flowed and was pieced together genuinely altered my brain chemistry.
IGOR is an album about lovers and love lost. about wanting someone you cant have, and about losing someone you never could have in the first place. I relate a lot to it, almost like a piece of me was born with this album, and will dies with this album.
The album being a "perfect loop" really helps witht the narritive that this is something real, something that keeps happening over and over and over again. We have proof of this too as seen in his other albums following this one (CMIYGL, Chromakmopia, Dont Tap The Glass) Tyler really encapsulates the human emotion with this one.
Overall, IGOR is a masterpiece and is truly a showcase of Tyler's raw talent. It sets the tone and rules for Tyler's future albums and songs.
Quadeca is an artist you won't find me nerding out about often. I found him while I was in a pretty bad relationship (on both sides, if you’re nosey) but his music always stuck with me. He was one of those artists who was always on in the back of your head, from his sly beats to his harmonic vocals. Quadeca is always on in your head.
I’ll be the first to admit, I had really only listened to ‘SCRAPYARD’ . It was my introduction to him. However, since being shown ‘SCRAPYARD’ I’ve been wholeheartedly obsessed. The way he plays with harmonies and breakbeats has always caught my eye, and has always been something I look for in music since.
Surprisingly, this rant isn't about ‘SCRAPYARD’ it’s about his newest release (as of 7/28/25) ‘Vanisher, Horizon Scraper’, and that title is very telling about what this album is. Listening now, feels like I’m fading away, like I'm a spirit floating and looking desperately for something to grasp onto.
Quadeca has a habit of what I call, “peering into my mind and taking my deepest darkest thoughts and making them into music”. His songs feel made for me, like a soundtrack for my own biopic. His songs feel like summer rain, love, and sunsets. I often find myself daydreaming whenever I listen to his music, wondering how life would be if I went down a different path.
That's what his music is, in a nutshell. A melodramatic daydream, hoping for a life that never happened, that never will happen, and that's okay in this melancholy little world he's created. Life is short, live it to your fullest, I think that's really the message here.
Quadeca makes music for all of the melodramatic daydreamers of this world. Whether you’re hoping for something new, or begging for someone, anyone, to come save you from this mess of life, Quadeca has a song for it.
